“Synchronicity is an ever-present reality for those who have eyes to see.”
Is it magical thinking to believe we can manifest our dreams? Are they coincidences or synchronicities? If we can’t touch it, is it real? This weekend is about noticing the hidden connections around us — the little winks from the universe — and realizing we have the power to co-create with life.
The kids have this figured out. Let’s follow their lead.
-
We will be providing group nanny care, which is not a substitute for parenting or private 1-on-1 childcare.
Our nanny team is led by Jenny and America. They will be overseeing the kids during their activity blocks throughout the day, which generally occur between 8a - 7p (may vary based on the schedule). Their role is to make sure all the kids are safe, and to alert the parents if any child needs them. They will be on break during the first 30 minutes of mealtimes.
Between 7p and midnight, we will have babysitters available to keep an eye on the older kids who are still awake, as well as walk the halls of the lodge listening to hear if any children might be needing a parent.
If you would like a private babysitter or nanny for your child, we would be happy to arrange this for you with one week’s notice.
If you would like to bring your own nanny with you, we can offer them a room in a nearby house on the property at no charge - based on availability.
-
Our home for the weekend will be The Thyme, an 85-acre property in the Berkshires that straddles the MA and CT borders. Check this location page for maps and directions.
-
Be sure to check with weather forecast!
Below are items we recommend packing:
Bathing suits
Waterproof shoes/boots to hike in
Long pants for hiking/foraging (tick season)
Sandals
Water bottles (hike)
Special food items for your kids - we will have snacks, but if there are special things in particular that your children like, we have a communal fridge conveniently located nearby the rooms.
Costumes for kids & adults inspired by the Enchanted Forest theme - we will have a few items for the children if you don’t have anything
Insect repellent. We will have Deep Woods Off at the property, but if you would like other options please feel free to bring along.
Indoor slippers or soft shoes - we have a shoes off policy in the lodge, and will be supplying slippers…but if you would be more comfortable in your own, please bring along
Alcohol. We will have recently-discovered delicious alcohol-free Curious Elixirs, which we are so excited to share with you. If you would like to drink alcoholic beverages, feel free to bring some with you.

The best experiences are ones where we start and end together. This helps to create a container in which magic can be created.
Friday check-in — in anytime after 2p. Dinner is at 6p, followed by an opening circle for parents at around 8pm (once the kids are asleep). We are requesting that everyone arrives in time for Friday dinner.
Last departures at 2p on Monday, May 26.
You can find updated programming schedules on this page.

You can put questions and requests in the group WhatsApp feed and we will try to respond quickly.
If you want to speak directly to someone, you can see anyone from the Curiouser team, or whatsapp or call me at +1-646-388-0954.

Firstly, adults can participate in any kid activity, and we hope to all find time to bond with the little ones throughout the weekend. The costume party is for everyone, inspired by the fact that our kids have better Burning Man costumes than we do. Creativity knows no boundaries, so the theme is suggestive - wear what you want!

Our general statement is — you are in the wild at The Thyme. It is raw nature at its finest. It is important to be mindful, especially with the little ones. As stated previously, the group nannies are no substitute for 1-on-1 childcare. Should you want a personal nanny, we can recommend some in the local area.
Open water — The Thyme has a large, unfenced pond, and a large stream running through the ravine.
Ridge tops — The ravine hike ascends to steep areas
Ticks — They are prevalent in this part of the country. Long pants during hikes and insect repellent can be helpful, and the best advice is to do thorough tick checks every night
Animals — Bears, coyotes, snakes… the Berkshire mountains are their home. We don’t encounter problems apart from isolated dumpster diving incidents (our fault), but it’s important to know where you are.
Location awareness — The Thyme is 85-acres of heavily wooded forest, ravines and ridge tops. If you decide to venture off into nature, be aware of your directions. When in doubt, stick with the group!

You can let people know in the whatsapp feed that you are looking for a ride. There is a Metro-North train that goes from NYC to Wassaic on the Harlem River Line. Check the MTA website for details.
The drive from Wassaic train station to The Thyme is approximately 25 minutes. Please contact us if you are looking for recommendations on cab companies in the area. Ubers are few and far between, so it is recommended that you arrange for a taxi ahead of time.
-
Imagine a spectrum with Burning Man on the left side and the Hotel du Cap, Antibes, on the right. Curiouser will be equidistant between center and far left. We will call this “Sensible Self Reliance.”
The Thyme seeks to give the feeling of home. There are no concierges available. The rooms won’t be turned over daily. The linens and towels are yours throughout the weekend. Please hang your towels to dry them — but should you need more for any reason, contact us in the feed.
Please don’t hesitate to ask for whatever you need, just note that sometimes it might just be faster to do it yourself.
Make yourselves at home! Take what you need! Let’s work together! -
Love it! Co-creation is where the magic is. Please speak with Steve first, and we will help you bring your genius to life for the group!

If you feel at any point that you would like a nanny to specifically watch your kids, we can arrange that. You can deal directly with the nanny on pricing and schedule.
-
There is a communal refrigerator located in the children’s playspace, accessible 24/7. There are also refrigerators in each lodge guest room.
-
Yes! Finally. 1 per room.
