We have not arranged for childcare. If those of you traveling with children would like to share the costs of a nightime nanny to sit near the rooms in case a child needs a parent, please DM steve and we will try to arrange. A nanny is generally $25/hour, and there are 6 families attending.

Our home for the weekend will be The Thyme, an 85-acre property in the Berkshires that straddles the MA and CT borders. Check this location page for maps and directions. You can learn more about The Thyme by visiting their website here.

For the comfort and safety of all guests — including children — pets and emotional support animals are generally not permitted. We do make exceptions on occasion, eg If you have a calm dog that fits in a handbag. Please contact us to discuss.
We do welcome service animals as defined by the ADA: dogs individually trained to perform specific tasks for a person with a disability. If you plan to bring a service animal, please notify us in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements. -

The best experiences are ones where we start and end together. This helps to create a container in which magic can be created.
Friday check-in — anytime after 2p. We are requesting that everyone arrives in time for family dinner if possible!
Programming will take shape depending on weather as well as the collective talents of the group. It will likely include a mix of the following:
Music in the Temple (DJ or live or both)
Sweat lodge or Pond Ice Plunge+Sauna
Sledding (snow permitting)
Hiking
Yoga
For the kids: movie night, arts & crafts, duck duck goose, make your own fun

Our general statement is — you are in the wild at The Thyme. It is raw nature at its finest. It is important to be mindful, especially with the little ones. As stated previously, the group nannies are no substitute for 1-on-1 childcare. Should you want a personal nanny, we can recommend some in the local area.
Pond — The Thyme has a large, unfenced pond area, which has varying thicknesses of ice depending on the day
Ravine — there is a large stream running through the ravine on the south side of The Thyme
Ridge tops — The ravine hike ascends to steep areas
Animals — Bears, coyotes, snakes… the Berkshire mountains are their home. While the cold weather means some of the animals (and ticks) are less prevalent or hybernating, it’s important to know where you are.
Location awareness — The Thyme is 85-acres of heavily wooded forest, ravines and ridge tops. If you decide to venture off into nature, be aware of your directions. When in doubt, stick with the group!

You can let people know in the whatsapp feed that you are looking for a ride. There is a Metro-North train that goes from NYC to Wassaic on the Harlem River Line. Check the MTA website for details.
The drive from Wassaic train station to The Thyme is approximately 30 minutes. Please contact Morningstar Cab ahead of your train journey at 845-493-0211. Ubers are next to impossible to find.
Note - the cab is approx $60-70 one way from the station, so it is a good idea to link up with someone else taking the train to carpool.

No, it’s true! In fact, we have an award certificate signed by the state of Massachusetts, substantiating this claim. We take great pride in our well water!
So, the great news is you can fill your glass or water bottles straight from the faucets anywhere at The Thyme. We encourage you to bring water bottles.

Yes! Curiouser is an inclusive community that loves authenticity, imperfections, individuality and vulnerability!
We bear no judgments, but do have to charge $50 for each towel that is not in the room after checkout.

Alcohol is not included. You are free to enjoy your own. The only request we have is to refrain from bringing alcoholic beverages into The Temple.
