Our creative block vanished in an instant—thanks to an 8-year-old who simply said, “Wicked.” And just like that, The Wizard of Oz became the inspiration for our next gathering.

Cake. It was the carrot that got the children to clean up after art workshop. Carrots, it turns out, also worked on the grown-ups—in the form of winter beanies, the prize for plunging into a 37-degree pond in 29-degree air.
