This weekend is really just about being together, honoring our Boulos ancestors and sharing family stories so they can be carried from one generation to the next. Bring anything you can to help us pull together the pieces — little stories that help us know the 9 Boulos brothers & sisters better, photos, letters and more.

Our home for the weekend will be The Thyme, an 85-acre property in the Berkshires that straddles the MA and CT borders. Check this location page for maps and directions. You can learn more about The Thyme by visiting their website here.

The cost per head is:

Adult: $350 + tax = $379

Child: $100 + tax = $129

The price is all-inclusive of food (we have an excellent chef and kitchen staff), non-alcoholic beverages, sweat lodge ceremony, accommodation and activities for 3 days/2 nights at The Thyme.

Exclusions:

• Alcohol - if you would like to drink, please bring your own

• Bodywork - if you would like to book a massage, we will provide a separate link for you to schedule and book directly with the masseuse

• Transportation to/from train station

We will be providing child wranglers for the group , which is not a substitute for parenting or private 1-on-1 childcare.

Our nanny team is led by Jenny Aguas, and will be overseeing the kids during their activity blocks throughout the day, which generally occur between 8a - 7p (may vary based on the schedule). Their role is to provide an extra layer of oversight for the kids, and to alert the parents if any child needs them. They will be on break during the first hour of mealtimes. We request that parents feed their children. While the children can be under the watchful eye of the nannies while indoors, we request that a parent is with their children when outdoors. If you have older kids and would like to discuss, please reach out to Steven directly.

Between 9p and midnight, we will have a babysitter available to keep an eye on the older kids who are still awake, as well as walk the halls of the lodge listening to hear if any sleeping children might be needing a parent during the adult night activities.

If you would like a private babysitter or nanny for your child, we would be happy to try to arrange this for you with ample lead time.

If you would like to bring your own nanny with you, we can offer them a room in a nearby house on the property at no charge, based on availability.

Prepare for sun! Prepare for rain! Keep tabs on the weather report. Here are a few items we recommend packing:

• Bathing suits

• Waterproof layers

• Hiking shoes/boots

• Water bottles

• Athletic pants for hiking (so you can tuck them into your socks - tick protection)

• Special food items for you or your kids - we will have snacks, but if there are special things in particular that your children like, we have a communal fridge conveniently located nearby the rooms.

• Mahrajan attire 😂

• Bug Spray / Tick repellent

• Indoor slippers or soft shoes - we have a shoes off policy in the lodge, and will be supplying slippers…but if you would be more comfortable in your own, please bring along

• Portable crib. We have 2 Pack and Plays, available first come first serve.

• Alcohol. If you would like to drink alcoholic beverages, feel free to bring some with you. We will have mocktails, water, tea & coffee

For the comfort and safety of all guests — including children — pets and emotional support animals are generally not permitted.

We do make exceptions for calm, quiet dogs that can fit in a handbag. Please contact us if this is you.

Our general statement is — you are in the wild at The Thyme. It is raw nature at its finest. It is important to be mindful, especially with the little ones. The group nannies are no substitute for 1-on-1 childcare. When outdoors, we request that at least 1 parent is with your children at all times.

1. Open Water — The Thyme has a large, unfenced pond area located at the center of the property that is unsupervised

2. Ravine — there is a large stream running through the ravine on the south side of The Thyme

3. Ridge tops — The ravine hike ascends to steep areas

4. Ticks — The northeast is notorious for ticks, and they. are in season. It is important to do tick checks on adults and children in your family, especially before bed. For information from the CDC regarding ticks, visit here.

5. Animals — Bears, coyotes, rattlesnakes… the Berkshire mountains are their home.

6. Location awareness — The Thyme is 85-acres of heavily wooded forest, ravines and ridge tops. If you decide to venture off into nature, be aware of your directions. When in doubt, stick with the group!

You can let people know in the whatsapp feed that you are looking for a ride. There is a Metro-North train that goes from NYC to Wassaic on the Harlem River Line. Check the MTA website for details.

The drive from Wassaic train station to The Thyme is approximately 25 minutes and costs $60-70.

We recommend you arrange your taxi ahead of time — call Morning Star cab company at 845-493-0211. There are no Ubers operating in that area.

Imagine a spectrum with Burning Man on the left side and the Hotel du Cap, Antibes, on the right. Curiouser will be equidistant between center and far left. We will call this “Sensible Self Reliance.”

The Thyme seeks to give the feeling of home. There are no concierges available. The rooms won’t be turned over daily. The linens and towels are yours throughout the weekend. Please hang your towels to dry them — but should you need more for any reason, contact us in the feed.

Please don’t hesitate to ask for whatever you need, just note that sometimes it might just be faster to do it yourself.

There is a communal refrigerator located in the octagon room in the Mountain House, accessible 24/7. There are also refrigerators in each Mountain House guest room, as well as the common area of Ravine House.

No, it’s true! In fact, we have an award certificate signed by the state of Massachusetts, substantiating this claim. We take great pride in our well water!

So, the great news is you can fill your glass or water bottles straight from the faucets anywhere at The Thyme. We encourage you to bring water bottles.
